Bending insensitive standard polarization maintaining fiber 450-1550nm cladding 125um
Xiaoxiao Photon's panda shaped and bow tie shaped single-mode polarization maintaining (PM) fibers. Both are named according to the stress bars used. The stress rod is parallel to the fiber core, and the applied stress generates birefringence inside the fiber core, thereby maintaining polarization. The panda shaped stress bar is cylindrical, while the bow tie type uses a trapezoidal prism stress bar, as shown in the above figure. Usually, these two types of optical fibers can be used interchangeably. Panda shaped optical fibers have been used in the field of communication because cylindrical stress rods are easier to maintain uniformity over long distances during production. Polarization maintaining (PM) fibers are designed to provide high-level polarization maintenance for wavelengths ranging from 488nm to 1550nm and above. These fibers can be used for interferometric sensors, modulators, delay lines, spectroscopy, and biomedical applications. We use a "bow tie" stress applying component (SAP) to generate birefringence in the fiber core. These efficient SAP designs can generate very high birefringence without excessive stress, effectively controlling the polarization orientation of the entire fiber system. The bow tie PM fiber core is flanked by high expansion, boron doped glass regions on both sides, which shrink more than the surrounding silica
