The WLTL series tunable fiber laser adopts a proprietary design. The laser is mainly composed of a gain block and a frequency selection engine. Each component can be configured according to specific requirements, leaving ample options for achieving tuning range and variations in optical output power. Wavelength tuning is achieved by manually adjusting a micrometer or a micro motor controlled by a PC through a USB interface. The fast setup, small footprint, fast scanning, wide tuning range, and availability of X, O, SC, and L bands make lasers a cost-effective source for the development and laboratory purposes of various tests related to wavelength measurement, such as DWDM components, fiber Bragg gratings, and FGB sensor queries.

Our λ - Master 950 wavelength tunable laser uses our proprietary transposed Littman type external resonator structure to completely separate ASE from the output axis without sacrificing optical output intensity, achieving high output intensity and high spectral purity (without ASE). In addition, the Littman configuration is a geometrically and mathematically ideal configuration that has been partially deformed to compensate for the dispersion of LD chips and optical devices, enabling mode free hopping tuning over a wide wavelength bandwidth even in the 1um band, where chip dispersion becomes apparent, let alone in the communication band. In order to fully utilize the performance of the external cavity, a stepper motor type pressure contact slider with seamless and ultra precision motion was used as a wavelength tuning actuator to achieve wavelength scanning performance that facilitates precise spectral measurement. Other features include analog wavelength scanning using PZT, automatic focusing using high output power fiber couplers, and data acquisition synchronized with wavelength tuning, all of which can be fully utilized by spectral measurement software to meet the high requirements of laboratory users. The software is provided in executable file format, and the LabVIEW source code has also been distributed.
